Small is beautiful — from Glashütte

The Nomos Glashutte Orion 33 Rose Timepiece

As with usual Nomos Glashutte tradition we have another pre christmas launch, this year it is one for the ladies with the Orion 33 Rose, In the words of Nomos themselves

“It has become a kind of Christmas tradition by now: in time for the festive season we introduce a new model. This year’s Christmas surprise will certainly put a smile on women’s faces. We introduced our wristwatch Orion 33 rosé at SalonQP at the beginning of November—and of course I’d like to share the information with you too.  We hope you’ll like our latest model!”

Press Release by Nomos Glashutte

This year’s celebration will be in rosé. More delicate, yet decidedly grown up—that’s this year’s Christmas watch from NOMOS Glashütte. A present that lasts through time Glashütte, November 2012.

Under the tree in plenty of time: Orion 33 rose is the name of the new little sister of the familiar Glashutte watch—and it is this year’s Christmas surprise from NOMOS Glashutte. The youngest member of the 33 family looks like the original Orion with its gently curved case and fine stainless steel lunette. But it is smaller—and seems even flatter than other hand-wound watches from NOMOS Glashutte. With a diameter of just 33 millimeters, it is especially becoming on delicate wrists. The light rose hue of the dial—bove every suspicion of kitsch—latters the skin and eye and goes with velvet or silk, cord or tweed. A Sunday-best watch for every day, optically delicate and technically very robust.

All this makes the new Orion 33 rose from NOMOS Glashutte the perfect surprise for your savvy sister, your best girlfriend, your best beloved, and all the other fantastic women in your life. And it’s a gift that lasts— lifetime and longer.

Starting in November, this new model will be available for 1320 pounds from the best authorized watch retailers in the UK and at www.nomos-store.com.

transocean-chronograph-38_ambiance

With its understated design and refined dials, the Transocean offers a resolutely contemporary stylistic interpretation of the aesthetic of 1950s and 1960s chronographs. A model of fine workmanship and excellence, it has established itself as a new classic marrying prestige and distinction. Breitling is now enriching this exceptional collection with a 38 mm-diameter ladies’ chronograph that lends a touch of character to any wrist, including the daintiest.

The case with its pure lines, accentuated by a beveled bezel and slender lugs, comes in a choice of steel or 18K red gold. The meticulously crafted dials are adorned with applied hourmarkers and hollowed counters featuring a spiral motif. They are available in three refined colors – deep black, glowing silver and a highly original midnight blue shade. The caseback is engraved with the two stylized planes that were a longtime Breitling symbol, as indeed was the initial B in 18K gold enhancing the dial. The Barenia or crocodile leather straps offer a broad choice of vivid or classic hues, while a steel mesh bracelet lends a touch of boldness and sophistication.

Jeans and Watches gives you Hublot Big Bang Jeans /jeans-and-watches-gives-you-hublot-big-bang-jeans/ /jeans-and-watches-gives-you-hublot-big-bang-jeans/#comments Wed, 20 Feb 2013 14:49:00 +0000 /?p=6165 Hublot Jeans Watch Collection

Hublot presents its “Jeans” Ladies watch collection

Hublot Big Bang Jeans Ladies Watch Collection.Nothing says summer fashion quite like stylish denim.

Contributed by The Lamberts

Hublot did it! For the first time, a luxury watch brand has produced a collection of “Jeans” watches. And we haven’t settled for any old denim: The dials and straps are made by an Italian denim manufacturer who supplies the world’s biggest luxury and fashion names.

5835

Based on an idea by Tina Zegg, the collection comprises three ladies’ “Big Bang Jeans” watches and one ultra-technical men’s diving watch, the “Oceanographic 4000 Jeans”, all of which incorporate a detail of Dsquared denim from Tina Zegg.

You can almost feel the summer breeze in the faded blue of the denim. This won’t be the year that jeans make their exit from the fashion world. An accessory that has remained on trend since its creation, jeans are still an essential fashion item. Chic, rock’n’roll, sexy, boho, vintage, urban, authentic, tie-dye… denim is whatever you want it to be, and an enduring wardrobe staple for men and women alike.

5813 face

The launch of this collection, which combines fashion with the quality craftsmanship of Haute Horlogerie watches, took place on the 18th February 2013 at the Wellness Hotel Chasa Montana in Samnaun in the heart of the Swiss Alps (Zegg Hotels & Stores), and was attended by the German Double Olympic and World skiing champion, Maria Höfl-Riesch, a Hublot ambassador since 2011.  She was joined by Jean-Claude Biver, Chairman of Hublot, and Tina Zegg and Carlo Cerlati of Zegg&Cerlati in Monaco.

5816

The Oceanographic 4000 Jeans is a special edition exclusively created for Zegg & Cerlati boutiques, at Place du Casino in Monte Carlo, Ischgl in Austria and Samnaun in Switzerland. The Big Bang Jeans will also be exclusively available until the end of summer in Monaco.

TAG Heuer Formula 1 Womens Watch – Tom’s Thoughts /tag-heuer-formula-1-womens-watch-toms-thoughts/ /tag-heuer-formula-1-womens-watch-toms-thoughts/#comments Mon, 08 Oct 2012 12:02:13 +0000 /?p=5001 Post image for TAG Heuer Formula 1 Womens Watch – Tom’s Thoughts

TAG Heuer Formula 1 Womens White Ceramic Diamonds

Well the Formula 1 Season is well and truely underway, with only a few races left and everything to play for after Alonso, missing out on another top three finish by being so rudely extracted from the race before the first corner in Japan this weekend, we thought we would keep the F1 theme going by highlighting a ladies timepiece by Tag Heuer the Officila Formula One Timekeeper. So lets get Tom’s views on this timepiece.

Written By: Tom Dunn for The Watch Review Site

The pioneering Swiss manufacturer, TAG Heuer, has long enjoyed a unique relationship with motor sports. One need only look at the history behind the Monaco model, indebted as it is to the success of the 1971 Steve McQueen feature Le Mans, to see the indelible mark race car driving has left on TAG, and vice versa. The Swiss matchmaker was the first company to introduce timing devices for ski and motor racing events, including Formula One, so setting up a long collaboration with the particular sport that has since seen TAG Heuer recognised as the official Formula One Timekeeper.

To commemorate this accolade, TAG has produced a number of F1 series models across the years, including the piece currently worn by the McLaren F1 team drivers; Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button. This sleek black timepiece, inspired by the cutting-edge technology and high-speed performance of the sport, now finds its counterpart in the TAG Heuer Formula 1 Women’s Watch. Following the same basic shape and design principles of the men’s model, this sexy sister adds a dash of fashion to precision timekeeping.

As was seen in previous watches in the Formula 1 Women’s line, this latest entry swaps out the charcoal grey and black of its partnering piece in favour of a luscious white. It doesn’t, however, carry across the baby pink highlights seen in prior entries in the series, instead offering a simple, two-tone contrast of white ceramic and grey steel that bleeds elegance.

The watch’s dial is punctuated by a total of forty nine Wesselton diamond studs (0.18ct), functioning as a central circle decoration and as the marks for each hour. As if this wasn’t enough luxury for one watch, the TAG Formula 1 is given further charm through the setting of another forty eight diamonds (0.35ct) around the steel bezel. The result is a glamorous aesthetic that would suit day or evening wear with aplomb.

tag formula 1 back

As is to be expected however, the Formula 1 Women’s watch is as impressive under the hood as it is in the body work. Sitting between its sapphire crystal glass face and caseback, the watch boasts a TAG Calibre 5 Automatic movement, highlighted with gold engraving viewable on through the back of the piece. The Calibre 5’s 28,800 hourly vibrations are triggered between twenty six ruby points, with the movement boasting a 38 hour power reserve when the watch isn’t in use.

Finished with luminescent minute and hour hands, and a date window at the 6 position, this latest result of the special partnership between TAG Heuer and Formula 1 is a delight, fulfilling both the technical and stylistic specifications of the savvy watch fanatic.

Christopher Ward Belisama Automatic Ladies Watch – An Introduction /christopher-ward-belisama-automatic-ladies-watch-an-introduction/ /christopher-ward-belisama-automatic-ladies-watch-an-introduction/#comments Thu, 27 Sep 2012 06:16:31 +0000 /?p=4947 Post image for Christopher Ward Belisama Automatic Ladies Watch – An Introduction

Introducing a Ladies Automatic by Christopher Ward

Belisama Automatic and Belisama Diamond Automatic Ladies Watches – A rare breed…

Written by: Shirley Lambert

We are back with one of our favourite brands with something different to offer, Christopher Ward introduces the new Belisama Range of Automatic Ladies Watches, Yes a first for the British based watchmaker, as with all their other watches we have a British design (well sort of – more Cartier like really) and Swiss made with Swiss movements.

Why Belisama I hear you all shout? Well the name is derived from the Celtic goddess for light and wisdom, and when we say light we mean sunlight and moonlight, fairly apt for a watch we think. In homage the watches are all adorned with high quality Wesselton Diamonds and the dial has an array of silver rays depicting the rays of light from the moon and sun. As the goddess Belisama was worshiped before, after and during the Roman Empire by the Gauls and Brits alike, the watch depicts bold striking roman numerals on the dial at 12, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10, where there is no numeral we have a diamond indicating the 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11 indices on the dial. One thing I would point out is that there is no date function on the dial.

The Christopher Ward Belisama Watches are very akin to the Cartier Tank and pay homage to an iconic design and brand, even down to the blue carbouchon stone decorating the crown and Galvanic Guilloche sun ray dial.

This is one of the few Ladies automatic watches available in the market and I’m sure one of the most affordable, starting at £599. The market for ladies mechanical automatic watches is growing, the myth that the fairer sex is only interested in looks and not concerned with what’s under the cover is just that a myth, In my humble opinion I see this as one of the fastest growing markets within the watch industry.

In the Words of Christopher Ward himself “Judging by the volume of requests I have received from women (and men, it should also be said!) for us to introduce a women’s automatic watch there is no doubt whatsoever that women are as fascinated by the workings of a fine mechanical watch in the same way as men. We would have introduced an automatic earlier but I was never happy that we had the right combination of design and movement but when we started working on the Belisama it was clear from the beginning that this was something special and would be the perfect way to launch our women’s automatic offer.”

The movement housed within the 26mm x 25.4mm polished case of the Christopher Ward Belisama Automatics is the ETA 2671-1 automatic which is one of the smallest automatic movements available today and is visible through the crystal exhibition case back.

The Belisama ladies watch is available in  two individual models the W90 and W900, with both being made available in Stainless steel or 18ct Gold Plated cases, the difference between the two models is that the bezel on the W900 or to give it it’s full name W900 Belisama Diamond Automatic is  encrusted with 30 Top Wesselton full cut diamonds.

Both models are available with either a stainless steel bracelet or Louisiana Alligator strap in either black or white. It goes without saying the Gold plated face does not have the option of the stainless steel bracelet as that would just look a little strange, even to me. We have been told the straps have been specifically designed for female wrists and all the strap options have a deployment clasp buckle as standard

Links of London Watches: The Capital’s Time Continues

Written by Luke McNaney for The Watch Review Site

2012 has seen London committed to its turn in the spotlight, following up the Jubilee celebrations with the much-lauded London 2012 Olympic Games. Timekeeping was, as it always is, closely linked to the success of the Games and this year OMEGA assumed its role as Official OIympic Timekeeper for the 25th time – rather impressive, no?

However, OMEGA is not the only watch brand to make time for London. The capital’s moment as the global focus may begin to wane, despite the city hosting the Paralympics from 29 August (with timing and scoring services once again provided by OMEGA), but homegrown fashion brand Links of London will continue to fly the flag for England’s premier city with its line of designer timepieces.

Although the dedicated watch aficionado may favour more prestigious Swiss manufacturers, there is a lot to be said for the well-constructed watches from some of the more distinguished names in the fashion world. Links of London is a relatively young company, having been founded in 1990, but has quickly made strides worldwide with its London-inspired jewellery collections available in the UK, Hong Kong, USA and Canada.

The brand has established a contemporary watch collection that seamlessly combines the aesthetic of its popular jewellery items with high grade performance. Despite offering a gents range, which includes the latest motorsport-inspired design Chicane (a sort of budget version of a TAG Heuer Carrera), a Links of London watch is perhaps best reserved for the fashion-conscious female in need of a stylish counterpoint to a Tissot reserved for special occasions.

Coming in at the £350 mark are Links’ popular Sweetie watches, which are bold in their simplicity. The rectangular styling encloses plain block colour dials, with expandable stainless steel bracelets providing a smart finish that makes these a perfect tip for both the office and play. Despite the cloying name, Sweetie watches represent the high-end epitome of the brand’s watch output.

Almost reserved in its approach, Sweetie is further complemented by the contrasting bold colours of the aptly named Colour Blaze collection, which catches the eye with striking dials and rubber straps, and the edgy, darker urban series (which is perhaps not so aptly named!) Phoebe.

Although the options outlined here are of course more frivolous than a ladies Seamaster or suchlike, they’re inherently appealing in their accessibility (costing between £200 – £350) and Links of London’s twin concerns of fashion and functionality.

The Official Watches of The London 2012 Olympics by Omega – Three individual Omega Seamaster’s…

Written by: D Constant for The Watch Review Site

Sitting here in my living room in London with a new born baby boy trying to get him to relax and sleep watching the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony it dawned upon me, I haven’t shown you the Official Olympic Timekeepers London 2012 Specialities…

Sorry been a little busy, late nights (3 1/2 week old), early mornings (5 year old), Busy day Work, Play and Summer Holidays oh dear he says…

Omega Seamaster 1948 Co-Axial London 2012 Watch 2

Well he’s down now so time to let you all know about Omega’s Olympic Specialities for The London 2012 Olympic Games, I will also be posting a brief history of Omega and The Olympics if time permits (you will see why as there are many key time points involved)…  Well here goes fingers crossed I get this up before the Olympics is over in two weeks…

So as we all know Omega are once again the Official Timekeepers of the Olympic Games a role they have played for 80 years as it was back in 1932 that Omega first took the mantle and they have never let it go since, That also makes this the 25th Olympic Games Omega had been Official Timekeeper another milestone, add to that, that it was at the London Olympics back in 1948 that we first saw  the introduction of the Omega Seamaster Watch to the Olympics, and some 64 years on it is befitting the Omega brand that they have included in this Olympic collection amongst two other Omega Seamaster’s specifically produced to commemorate the London 2012 Olympics a limited edition timepiece in the Omega Seamaster 1948 Co-Axial London 2012, which is based on the inaugural Omega Seamaster introduced at the 1948 London Olympics.

As with tradition Omega have released a trilogy of timepieces specifically for the Olympics and the “piece de resistance” in our opinion is the afore mentioned Omega Seamaster 1948 London 2012 Limited Edition Watch, and this is where we begin our introduction to the Omega Seamasters London 2012 Olympic Specialities.

All the watches are Seamasters and all are adorned with the London 2012 Olympic Logo on an engraved case-back.

Omega Seamaster 1948 Co-Axial London 2012 Limited Edition Watch

Omega Seamaster 1948 Co-Axial London 2012 Watch

Omega have decided as its first of Three Special London 2012 Olympic timepieces to produce a  limited edition Omega Seamaster 1948 Co-Axial “London 2012″ which is a redesign of the first ever automatic Seamaster introduced in 1948 at the London Olympics, in the words of Omega

“The watch represents a fitting link between two Olympic Games hosted by a great city.”

The Omega Seamaster 1948 Co-Axial “London 2012″ Limited Edition Watch comes in a 39mm Case and is deemed to be a gents watch, it will be produced in a limited edition of 1,948 pieces and when it arrives will come in a London 2012 presentation box, This piece is Omega’s take on the Vintage 1948 Seamaster Co-Axial Automatic Watch and is to be the Ultimate London 2012 Olympic Games Omega Collectible, if not the Ultimate Olympic Collectible full stop… Well in the watch world, wouldn’t mind one of those torches as a momento, then again there are more torches in existence than the Omega Seamaster 1948 Co-Axial London 2012 Watch.

This is a pure classic Omega Seamaster in looks and to boot has an in house caliber driving its engine in the COSC Certified Omega Caliber 2202 with co-axial escapement.

The look of the  Seamaster 1948 Co-Axial London 2012 is based around its clean opaline silver face behind a double sided coated anti reflective sapphire crystal and polished stainless steel case, with its crisp White Gold Arabic numerals at 3,6,9 and 12 and its white gold hour markers, the Omega oozes vintage classic style. This Seamaster 1948 Co-axial chronometer features diamond polished hour and minute hands, with a separate seconds dial at 6 o’clock, highlighted by the deep blue steel hand.

The black leather strap, with polished silver buckle just adds to the exquisite looks of this limited edition London 2012 seamaster.

The Crown of the Seamaster 1948 is embossed with a vintage Ω symbol and as stated previously has an embossed caseback, but unlike the other two Omega Seamaster Olympic London 2012 Watches this caseback is embossed in 18ct yellow gold London 2012 Logo. The caseback is also engraved with the water resistance rating and limited edition number of 1,948 as expected.

As for water resistance the The Omega Seamaster 1948 Co-Axial “London 2012″ Limited Edition watch is water resistant to 120 metres / 400 feet / 12 bar.

We feel that Omega have thought carefully about the Olympic Games in London 2012 and have come up trumps with the Seamaster 1948 London 2012 and this lovely watch is available from Ernest Jones in the UK at £3,700.00

The Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Co-Axial Chronograph “London 2012” Men’s Watch

The Men’s version of this Omega London 2012 Olympic watch is available in a sturdy 44 mm case, The Omega Aqua Terra Co-Axial Chronograph “London 2012”  comes as pictured above in  a Stainless Steel Case edition with matching Stainless Steel bracelet, or as a bi-colour polished and brushed case made from both 18 ct red gold and stainless steel with a contrasting dark blue leather strap as pictured below

The Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Co-Axial Chronograph “London 2012″ makes a great impression with its sturdy and substantial 44mm case and the as expected vertically striped teak pattern dial (quickly becoming a must on a Omega Aqua Terra Watch) in deep blue PVD coated dial on both versions of this London 2012 timepiece.

Both Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Co-Axial’s  have a date window located between 4 and 5 o’clock, along with three sub-dial complications being the Chronograph recording up to 30 minutes at 3 o’clock, the 12 hour chrono at 6 o’clock and small seconds counter at 9 o’clock, and both dials are set behind a double sided anti reflected, scratch resistant domed Sapphire Crystal.

The only differences in the dials of the two versions come when you look at the hands, hour markers and Omega Logo, the stainless steel model has white gold versions, whereby the Rose Gold Watch has Rose Gold versions both polished and faceted. Both are treated with with white Super LumiNova making them readable in low light conditions and the dark.

The Crown of both of the Seamaster Aqua Terra Co-Axial Chronograph London 2012 watches are embossed with a vintage Ω symbol and as stated previously have an engraved and embossed caseback showing the Olympic London 2012 logo. The casebacks are also engraved with the water resistance rating and details of the watch and movement.

The Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Co-Axial Chronograph London 2012 is water resistant to a depth of 150 metres, 500 feet or 15 bar. The only other thing we have not highlighted is the strap, its deep blue leather and is actually extremely nice and fits the watch in both looks and style exceptionally well.

Both these watches are available to purchase in the UK from Ernest Jones with the Stainless Steel with Stainless Steel Bracelet version at £4,700.00 and the Rose Gold with Blue Strap at £6,500.00

Girard-Perregaux Cat’s Eye Jewellery Watch

Press release – Girard-Perregaux

Before we get onto the Press Release just a few of our own words, we cannot fault Girard-Perregaux on its achievements and its commitment to its watchmakers especially with its work to make watchmaking an art that is available and accessible to all through its promotion with its New Young watchmakers activities, which we have closely followed here on The Watch Review Site (if you are interested you will find the articles about these young watchmakers and their exploits here.)

But to say the least we are not impressed by this Girard-Perregaux Cat’s Eye Ladies Watch, its just too glitzy and diamondy for us here at the Watch Review Site… But in the nature of the beast we are sure it will be of interest to a lot of you out there so here it is in it’s full technicolour glory. Oh and not taking away the fact that it has been a mainstay in the GP collection since 2004 and the technical and artistic achievements in producing the piece, its just not for us.

A union between Haute Horlogerie and Haute Joaillerie

A myriad of diamonds clothes the Cat’s Eye in light, accentuating the curves of its silhouette. Behind the scenes are the mechanics of perfection. Time beats to the rhythm of a self-winding movement manufactured by Girard-Perregaux. The Cat’s Eye Haute Joaillerie showcases highly skilled crafts where beauty and technology complement one another in perfect harmony.

Draped in 150 emerald-cut precious stones, the case illuminates its feminine curves. The flower-shaped crown unfurls its petals to reveal its heart: a rose-cut diamond. The hours display blossoms on a bed of gemstones that emphasize the emblematic case shape.

Starting with the small seconds, the iridescent oval progressively broadens with uniform brilliance. The dial, adorned with a delicate “Clous de Paris” hobnail motif, includes 102 emerald-cut diamonds, selected and positioned in order to deliver maximum brilliance.

A traditional technique requiring a particularly delicate touch, the “Clou de Paris” hobnail motif consists of holding several stones with a single “clou” or pin, meaning that the diamond cutter must cut and calibrate the stones meticulously, one by one. The sapphire crystal, rounded in both directions, tops the dial and its leaf shaped hands.

A taupe-coloured satin strap enhances the sparkle of the stones. The contrast is subtle, the union a success. Extended by an ardillon buckle set with 13 baguette-cut diamonds, it encircles the wrist with unforgettable moments in time.

Finally, the hand-engraved case back opens onto the calibre GP03300 self-winding movement whose oscillating weight adopts Girard-Perregaux’s tapestry decoration. The date has been set.

Created in 2004, the Cat’s Eye collection dedicates beautiful watchmaking pieces to women. The refinement of the pieces rivals their attention to detail. Its emblematic design, which has won numerous distinctions, is highlighted by precious materials and manufacture movements, both simple and with complications. The collection proves that fine watchmaking is far from being the prerogative solely of men.

Cartier Tank Anglaise Watch – It’s been 16 years… /cartier-tank-anglaise-its-been-16-years/ /cartier-tank-anglaise-its-been-16-years/#comments Sun, 01 Jul 2012 20:15:20 +0000 /?p=3905 Post image for Cartier Tank Anglaise Watch – It’s been 16 years…

Cartier Tank Anglaise Watch – The Launch

Written by D Constant for The Watch Review Site

Well was it worth the wait… Cartier enthusiasts will definitely think so and so do we.

Well it has been 16 years since we have seen a new Cartier Tank style released and now its our turn its the 2012 New Cartier Tank Anglaise or English Tank… I think Tank Anglaise sounds more Cartier like and befits this timepiece rather than its literal translation…

So, what have Cartier got in stall for us with the new Tank Anglaise, Well it was first shown to the world at BaselWorld 2012 back in March and its has now been launched in the UK and across the world by this infamous jeweller. This new Tank is a sort of cross between the Tank Francaise and the Ballon Bleu, see for yourself.

As per time honoured recent tradition Cartier have produced a Video Introducing us to the Tank Anglaise and highlighting its predecessors in History all the way back to the first Tank in 1917. I’m sure we will be seeing a new Tank in 5 years for the centenary. Here’s the Video for you all to see.

Video courtesy of Cartier – Never Stop Tank – Tank Anglaise Watch Video

As a quick brief the Cartier Tank Anglaise will be available in Large (Men’s) 47mm Long and 36.2mm wide , Medium (Unisex) 39.2mm long and 29.8mm and Small (Women’s) 30.2mm x 22.7mm Sizes. and they are all a new slimline Cartier Tank with the thickness ranging from 9.82mm to 7.19mm.

As you can see the Cartier Tank Anglaise has kept its Classic Cartier Silvered Dial with Blue Hands a must with a Tank (I’m sure most Cartier watch buyers would agree, a timeless classic dial) , what does strike you as interesting is the crown feature and cut out extruding from the Bezel, I actually really like the idea and it seems to work very well with this timepiece. It offers a flush finish to the side of the watch and also incorporates the mainstay of Cartier it’s sapphire crystal cabochon on the crown. Its Angular extrusions with the rounded end piece and sapphire make it an artwork in itself.

The Cartier Tank Anglaise Watch is available in Three Colours these being 18k White Gold, Yellow Gold and Rose Gold, Yes no Steel options yet… and they all come with matching bracelets

They have also got a number of different diamond options, one with diamonds on each side of the bezel and others fully encrusted, if that’s your cup of tea. For regular readers of our articles and reviews, you will already know at The Watch Review Site we are not overly keen on diamond encrustation…

Tank Anglaise White Gold and Diamonds

Now to the nitty gritty of the Cartier Tank Anglaise Watch, It comes with either Quartz movements or Automatic Movements depending on which model and size you opt for, The pick of the bunch will have to be the Large Model which features Cartier’s inhouse caliber 1904 MC Automatic Movement, oh I forgot to mention the Sapphire Crystal Exhibition Case back that comes on all the watches, this means you can now see the movements creativity also.

The Cartier Tank Anglaise Small all come with a Cartier 057 Quartz movement, The Medium non Diamond Tank Anglaise have the Caliber Cartier 077 Automatic Self Winding Mechanical Movement and the Diamond versions have the Cartier 076 Automatic Movement at the heart of the timepiece.

And for anyone contemplating wearing the Cartier Tank Anglaise whilst washing the dishes or swimming it is water resistant to 30m.

The Tank Anglaise Watch Small starts from £15,000, with the Tank Anglaise Medium starting from £21,750 and Large from £26,750 for the Rose or Yellow Gold Non-Diamond versions, with the White Gold being slightly more expensive.

Well so Cartier has now covered the French (Tank Francaise), Americans (Tank Americaine) and now us Brits with The Cartier Tank Anglaise. With no bias at all I would have to say this is the best Tank Watch yet.

Breitling Superocean 42 White Water – A look at /breitling-superocean-42-white-water-a-look-at/ /breitling-superocean-42-white-water-a-look-at/#comments Fri, 22 Jun 2012 05:08:00 +0000 /?p=3765 Post image for Breitling Superocean 42 White Water – A look at

Breitling Superocean 42 White Water

Written by: D Constant for The Watch Review Site

In Breitlings’ Words “The great white sports watch”

Well Breitling have just increased their Superocean range by adding this stunning All White 42mm Divers Watch to be known as the Breitling Superocean 42 White Water.

When we say in White, we mean all white with a hint of stainless steel, the 42mm Superocean White Water has a white bezel, white strap, white dial and white hands… Do you think the movements white too? Now that would be going a step too far.

With current fashion trends this watch will be suitable to both sexes in my opinion, the whiteness will attract the ladies vote and the size of 42mm is not too oversized to put the fairer sex off this Breitling Divers watch. It’s also a workable watch and is fit for purpose all the way to the strap – its White Rubber you Know… (Some people don’t like divers with leather straps, its rubber or steel.)

So we now see this sporty and robust divers watch in all white, this is a well known, much respected and envied timepiece and to top it off is Water Resistant to depths of 1,500 meters or 5,000 ft for the older readers on The Watch Review Site.

Talking about size the watch is not too thick either bearing in mind the excellent water resistance rating of 150 bars. This rating is courtesy of the screw locked crown and screwed in stainless steel case back. Oh not forgetting the compulsory helium escape valve for decompression protection.

We are used to Breitling watches being available with an extensive strap choice but as the name and nature of this watch suggests the only available strap for the Breitling Superocean 42 White Water is the white rubber Diver Pro band as in the photographs.

The Breitling 42 White Water is powered by the in-house Breitling caliber 17 automatic self winding movement certified to COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute) standards.

The white rubber-molded unidirectional rotating bezel and the distinctive dial are adorned with dynamically styled numerals, even though these are not Luminous, viewing in the dark is not an issue as the bezel has Lumin squares and the hands are also coated with Lumin.

The thick sapphire crystal is glareproofed on both sides.

So have Breitling come up with another fashionable, effective Divers Watch for all markets in the 42mm White Water?
