Raymond Weil Freelancer Steel and Rose Gold Class Watch

We’ve seen the Raymond Weil Freelancer Urban Black released earlier this year on the Watch Review Site at  /a-look-at-the-raymond-weil-freelancer-urban-black/ now the master watchmaker is introducing another note on their musical score with another male version of the Freelancer, This is Raymond Weil’s Freelancer Steel and Rose Gold Class Watch, or reference 7730.

Raymond Weil have given us a few new notes this year including the Ladies Freelancer Lady Sunshine, which we feel is a lovely timepiece, so does the New Men’s Freelancer Steel and Rose Gold Class Watch stand up to the other additions to the 2012 Musical Score from Raymond Weil.

So Raymond Weil, one of the last man standing independent Swiss watchmakers reinterprets one of it’s classics and has unveiled a new variation of its best-selling chronograph, the Freelancer Steel & Rose Gold Class. The Freelancer was first introduced to the world in 2007 and today we see it in a 42mm Polished Stainless Steel case the Steel & Rose Gold Class looks and feels like a timeless classic Raymond Weil Chronograph.

The stainless steel Case is mounted on a brown leather strap and with the contrasting rose gold hands and indexes looks stunning and enhances its Dial, which three seperate counters at 6, 9 and 12 o’clock as well as the 3-day date and day window at 3 o’clock. All this is behind an anti reflective sapphire crystal glass. The indexes and hands are rose gold plate are coated with a luminescent material allowing visibility in low light.

As for the strap mentioned previously it is made of calf skin leather in dark brown and has light brown saddle stitching with a Raymond Weil folding clasp. This combination of materials and pure lines assures this new model of The Freelancer Steel & Rose Gold Class a natural distinction from its predecessors.

At the heart of the Raymond Weil Freelancer Steel & Rose Gold Class is the In-House RW5000 Movement, which provides a power reserve of 46 hours and is a mechanical automatic winding movement.

The Raymond Weil Freelancer Steel & Rose Gold Class also has a water resistant rating of 10 atm or 100 meters.

The Freelancer Class’s emphasis on classic urban style and elegance can be worn on any occasion and is very current with the size of its case and current market trends would suggest that the Raymond Weil Freelancer Steel & Rose Gold Class is a winner, But we still prefer the Urban Black… or do we really?

Raymond Weil Freelancer Lady Sunshine – Released

Further to our previous article back in March when we introduced you to a new musical note in the Raymond Weil Score as they like to refer to their new releases at the swiss watchmaker, we can now confirm that the Raymond Weil Freelancer 2410 – Lady Sunshine has been launched by the watchmaker.

In the words of the watchmaker themselves “This truly feminine timepiece combines the elegance of rose gold with the refinement of mother of pearl. A sunray guilloché decoration on the dial illustrates perfectly the name of this new creation and is enhanced by the brilliance of the diamonds sprinkled on the bezel and indexes.”

“It is powered by an automatic movement visible through the opening between 12 and 2 o’clock. The bracelet adds a final touch of elegance with its alternation of polished and satined links.”

Nabucco, the famous opera by Giuseppe Verdi, may end after the fourth act, but RAYMOND WEIL is holding the note for the fifth consecutive year and again adding an exceptional new model to its nabucco collection. Having explored the richness of pink gold with the nabucco Cuore Caldo, the depth of intense black with the nabucco Rivoluzione, the lightness of titanium with the nabucco Va’ Pensiero and finally a more classical identity with the nabucco Inverso, the Swiss Brand unveils the heart of a prestige watch with the new nabucco Cuore Vivo.

In 2012, nabucco, an elegant, stylish collection with a distinctive design and imposing proportions, opens its heart and proposes a glimpse of its mysteries to lovers of beautiful mechanics and lyrical lines.

Thanks to an adaptation to the movement, the dial of the nabucco Cuore Vivo opens at 10 o’clock, allowing the light to filter across the going train of the complex balance and escapement wheels. This delicate assembly, the heart of the watch, is protected by an impressive 46mm diameter case made of a titanium and steel, water-resistant to a depth of 200m. Highlighted by the titanium of the tachymeter bezel, the black opaline dial of the timekeeper is embellished with a central checkered motif, luminescent indexes and a larger than ever Arabic numeral 12. Three silver counters complete the measuring instrument: at 3 o’clock (30-minute counter), at 6 o’clock (12-hour counter) and at 9 o’clock (small seconds). Finally, its rubber alligator-style bracelet, fully water-resistant, combines softness, comfort and strength.

Raymond Weil – Introducing The Maestro Petite Seconde Or Rose

We are looking at another of Raymond Weil’s musical notes in its’ acclaimed 2012 musical score collection. The new Maestro Petite Seconde Or Rose or to give it a more apt UK translation The new Maestro Small Seconds Pink Gold). We have previously showed you the limited edition Maestro Mouvement d’Espoir on The Watch Review Site, which you can see here.

The second release in this Raymond Weil Maestro Musical score, gives us a wristwatch that has a contrasting Black Dial with Pink Gold Hands and Roman Numerals. This striking contrast looks good with the Pink Gold case and Brown leather strap.   

According to Raymond Weil “this timepiece offers the amateur a new way of seeing the time”, furthermore RW state “each hour, each minute and each second become a matter for contemplation and interpretation”.

The Maestro Petite Seconde Or Rose as is obvious by the name features the seconds-hand in a small counter dial at 6 o’clock. This simple seconds counter is positioned perfectly and is easily read standing out well from the black dial, due to the textured effect of the dial itself. This textured effect is the Clou de Paris pattern as seen on other Raymond Weil watches.

The Maestro Petite Seconde also houses a rectangular date window at 3 o’clock.

The polished steel with Rose Gold PVD finished round case is 39.5mm in diameter and houses the RW4250 in house movement. This movement supplies 38 hour power reserve and can be seen through the Maestro’s Sapphire Crystal Case Back.

The Raymond Weil Maestro Petite Seconde Or Rose Watch is finished with a brown calf skin alligator strap that features saddle stitching and a pink gold ardillon buckle.

A sparkling note has appeared to brighten RAYMOND WEIL’s 2012 musical score: the freelancer Lady Sunshine, a watch, which is both ultra-feminine, urbane and highly chic! This brand new addition to the freelancer collection demonstrates once again that mechanical prestige goes together perfectly with total femininity.

Freelancer is much more than a simple name. This collection reflects the independence of spirit of a brand that never ceases to evolve, while remaining faithful to its values. This name also evokes the freedom of the artist in front of a blank canvass, a rough block of granite or an empty musical score. Like the painter, the sculptor or the composer, it is with just as much passion, creativity and precision that the Swiss watchmaker has assembled the components of its latest feminine creation, the freelancer Lady Sunshine.

A real burst of light….. the freelancer Lady Sunshine’s name is totally appropriate: at its centre, a sunray guilloché decoration sets off the white mother-of-pearl: at the outer edges of the dial, the pink gold indexes capped with sparkling diamonds, like gleaming sunbeams: the hour, minute and seconds hands and the flange revealing the balance and its inner rubies all pick up the pinky color of the setting sun; and finally, the diamonds set delicately in the bezel radiate their brilliance a thousand times. They are the crowning glory of the 29mm case that houses the watch’s automatic mechanical heart. The movement beats with 28,800 vibrations per hour and is clearly visible through the dial opening between 12 and 2 o’clock, as well as through the case back’s sapphire crystal. The watchmaker’s precision handcraft and attention to detail are also expressed in the beautiful effect of the steel bracelet’s alternating polished and satined surfaces.

The attention devoted to the slightest detail and above all to the dial adorned in pink gold is not limited only to the freelancer Lady Sunshine. This year, the entire freelancer collection is looking at life through rose-tinted glasses, and Lady Sunshine will find her partner in a 42mm gent’s version, just as sophisticated and urbane.

Freelancer Urban Black – Raymond Weil

This is the first Freelancer manufactured by Raymond Weil  inStriking Black, Not a common colour or theme for the classic watch maker, but as we understand it this is a peek into the future of the Raymond Weil Freelancer collection. This model the Urban Black is in Black PVD and is the vision of modernism for the collection.

The Freelancer has always been a modern take on a classic design and the fact that Raymond Weil have opted to bring out a Black version in 2012 just enforces this thinking, The name “Freelancer” associates itself with the fact that Raymond Weil is one of the few remaining Swiss independant watchmaking companies.

The Chronograph has always been the collections iconic watch, and it has always been at the forefront of what the collection strives to be by being innovative and modernistic at every oportunity and has reinvented itself time and time again to show what Raymond Weil see at the future of The Freelancer, The Urban Black is no different to it’s predecessors.

The Freelancer Chronograph Urban Black has a black PVD coated 42mm case, a black opaline dial with 8 luminescent Arabic numerals with silver-powdered edges. Add the Red Hands and the red tachometer numbers and its an eye-catching piece.

One of the Freelancers classic recurring symbol are the screws in this piece they anchor the applique securely around the date aperture and again as always, displaying three days. A freelancer wouldn’t be a Freelancer without the Screws.

The Urban Black also has two small counters with red hands for additional detail, these have been revised from previous editions of the Chronograph and are placed at 12 and 6 o’clock, with the 30 minutes at 12 o’clock and the 12 hours at 6 o’clock. Both these are prominent and inset to create further impact, the third counter is the seconds counter at 9 o’clock, which is slightly smaller and less pronounced in its styling (too much of a good thing comes to mind, well done RW).

Going back to tradition and away from modernism the case back is transparent and reveals the mechanical heart of the timepiece, equipped with 25 rubies and a power reserve of 46 hours. Continuing with the Black theme, the oscillating weight is embellished in black also.

Finally, the Raymond Weil Frelancer Chronograph Urban Black contrast the boldness and brashness of the Black PVD casing and folding clasp with a soft black calfskin strap.

Once again raymond Weil have come up with a Freelancer that is Bold with a modern twist and innovative. We cant wait to see what they have install for us with the rest of the Freelancer collection going forward, not that it needs too much doing to it but it will be interesting to see how far Raymond Weil go with the black theme.

Raymond Weil Supports the fight against cancer with The Maestro

Cancer is one of the leading causes of death around the world. One out of every 600 children suffers from cancer. Although recovery rates from childhood cancers have improved considerably in the last 30 years (from 30% to around more than 70%), these illnesses are still the second leading cause of death in children over one year old.

The Pediatric Hemato-Oncology Unit of Geneva University Hospital is working actively to develop more effective and less toxic treatments for those children.
