Roger Dubuis – Excalibur Skeleton Double Flying Tourbillon in black titanium

Emblematic of the ROGER DUBUIS identity, the Excalibur Skeleton Double Flying Tourbillon watch in black titanium is presented here under a new reference with a “full black” titanium case. The lightness of the material emphasises, more than ever, the ethereal appearance of the exceptional RD01SQ skeleton movement, all the better to reveal the power of this timepiece designed in a spirit of total transparency. The Excalibur Skeleton Double Tourbillon watch is available in a limited edition of 88 pieces.

Power, lightness and transparency: this is the triple register in which the new Excalibur Skeleton Double Flying watch in black titanium from ROGER DUBUIS plays its role. This exceptional timepiece is presented for the first time in a “full black” titanium case with a 45 mm diameter, water-resistant to 5 bar (50 metres): a very technical exterior in keeping with the image of the mechanism it houses.

The ROGER DUBUIS Manufacture set off the new craze for skeleton movements back in 2005. It has now given them a totally new dimension by developing skeleton movements with a modern appearance, that is more ethereal and more audacious than before. In parallel to this, the Genevan watchmaker has also devoted its attention to the most emblematic of all watch complications: the Tourbillon. The purpose of this complication is to compensate for the effects of gravity so as to ensure that watches operate more efficiently. ROGER DUBUIS has gone a step further by developing a Double Tourbillon with differential to provide even greater reliability. This is an exercise in high-level watchmaking acrobatics designed to ensure optimal performance.

The skeleton double flying tourbillon movement, treated in grey anthracite, operates the latest arrival in the Excalibur Collection, the RD01SQ calibre, that carries within it an important part of the identity of the Genevan watchmaker’s movements. It incorporates two signature devices characteristic of ROGER DUBUIS, the double flying tourbillon and the skeleton. This hand-wound mechanical skeleton movement has 319 parts and beats at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (2 x 3 Hz) for a power reserve of 48 hours.

Proposed in a limited edition of 88 pieces, the Excalibur Skeleton Double Flying Tourbillon watch in black titanium is delivered with a hand-sewn black alligator-skin strap with an adjustable folding buckle in titanium.

Roger Dubuis – Excalibur Automatic Collection

The new Excalibur Automatic line from ROGER DUBUIS is an ode to power and aestheticism. Dynamic in its shapes, sharp angles and the force of its design, the Excalibur model is a concentration of all the characteristics of the collection combined with a perfect mechanism. The new Excalibur Collection is for the knights of the modern age.

The Excalibur Collection is therefore enriched by an automatic line that remains faithful to the features that have enforced the reputation of this flagship collection of the ROGER DUBUIS Manufacture. More urban, a touch more serene but every bit as dynamic with its tense lines, the collection is distinguished by its pure and uncompromising aestheticism.

The Excalibur Automatic for 2012 is to be manufactured in three models Pink Gold with brushed dial, Pink Gold with antracite dial and Steel.

Ensuring perfect comfort for the wearer, its pink-gold 42 mm diameter case brings out all the dazzling energy of its brushed sunray effect graphic dial, reinforced by elongated Roman numerals. This automatic line gains in lightness and symmetry through the absence of a crown-guard, but retains its powerful look thanks to its strong, bevelled angles. It is the same with the bezel, so typical of this collection, with its more delicate fluting that here reflects the “Dauphine” shape of the hour and minute hands. The impact of the dial is even more strongly marked by the large Roman numerals that radiate from the centre, and by the generously-dimensioned counter of the “small” seconds hand at 9 o’clock. The exterior flange supports the minute circle, interrupted by square applied markers at each full hour.

This pink-gold model is also proposed with an anthracite grey dial and Roman numerals in a slightly darker tone, which give it an extremely elegant and subtle appearance. The version in steel, fitted with a silvered dial, perfectly completes the collection.

At the heart of these elegant timepieces beats the RD620 calibre, designed, developed and produced by ROGER DUBUIS. This mechanical movement with automatic micro-rotot winding represents the new generation of ROGER DUBUIS mechanical movements, combining aesthetic qualities and performance, and based on the most advanced production technology. Visible through the sapphire crystal case-back, this movement incorporates 184 parts and offers hour, minute and small seconds functions. Decorated with “Geneva ribbing”, it beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and has a power reserve of 52 hours.

Roger Dubuis – 2012 Collections

Four worlds for an extraordinary universe

— Pulsion —— Velvet —— Excalibur —— La Monegasque —

ROGER DUBUIS has been at the forefront of the contemporary Fine Watchmaking scene since 1995. Its audacious creations, firmly anchored in the 21st century, bear the mark of all the savoirfaire and expertise of the finest watchmaking mechanisms. Rich in conceptual creativity and mechanical detail, its collections are inspired by four different worlds: Player, Warrior, and two newcomers: Venturer and Diva. They will give the inspiration to embark upon this New Year of 2012.

More than just a traditional watch manufacture, ROGER DUBUIS is the reflection of a space spilling over with creative ideas. The Genevan watchmaker has taken its inspiration from four different and distinctive worlds from which it has created a universe in which exuberance takes pride of place and creativity reigns supreme. These four worlds feed the imagination of their designers and contribute to the construction of the brand’s image: Player, Warrior, and those who will be at the forefront of the stage in 2012, Venturer and Diva.

ROGER DUBUIS immerses itself in the atmosphere of each of these worlds in order to create exceptional watch models. The Monégasque Collection refers to the boldness and wit of the world of the Player. The Excalibur Collection is influenced by the strength, brilliance and discipline of the world of the Warrior. The limitations of ordinary life have no place in the world of the Venturer, or in the Pulsion watch models that evoke it. Finally, the world of the Diva is impregnated with elegance and beauty, just like the Velvet Collection that has been inspired by it.

With the clear desire to look to the future to create the watches of tomorrow today, ROGER DUBUIS challenges the senses day after day. Each of its four fantasy worlds occupies a clearly defined territory and helps to inspire the collections Excalibur, La Monégasque, Pulsion and Velvet, that will write new chapters in the history of watchmaking. The brand infuses them with the conventions that it holds dear: a case that clearly defines identity; reliability and expertise; boldness and total authenticity. With the touch of mystery and the unexpected that is a characteristic feature.

Venturer – Pulsion

Growing through action For ever walking on a tightrope, always off the beaten path, the boundaries of normality have no meaning in his life. The world of the Venturer is marked by danger and challenge. Adrenalin is his fuel, action is his engine, intelligence and alertness are his protection. This is the world that permeates the new Pulsion Collection from the Genevan watchmaker ROGER DUBUIS. These are timepieces made in his own image: naturally powerful, and effortlessly controlled.

For the Venturer is of the breed who defy the rules, despite the pitfalls, which he overcomes without a single false move. His resolute gaze shows that he is not around just to make up the numbers. He is a man who is determined to set the pace, someone who likes to push back the boundaries. The Venturer is marked by strength of character, a constant desire to surpass himself and the ability to handle every situation. He flirts with danger, but accurately assesses the risks to avoid the pitfalls.

He is the total master of his own destiny. If he seems to be constantly on the edge of the precipice, he knows how to hold the road and easily handles the trickiest of bends. He never loses his head. His world is both attractive and disconcerting at the same time. We sense that he is no stranger to exciting and daring experiences. More than just a lifestyle, he represents the art of good living. The world of the Venturer is a constant succession of the most powerful, intense and astonishing exploits.

The models in the new Pulsion Collection from the Genevan watchmaker ROGER DUBUIS are inspired by the world of the Venturer and embody a certain image of raw virility. They are defined by both clear lines and a certain impenetrability, combined with strength and presence. Their mechanical movements, characterised by discipline and rigour, are the embodiment of veritable watchmaking challenges. As soon as the observer sets eyes upon them, they impose their very special way of occupying space and their powerful identity: pure charm in its natural state. Their force and their boldness give them a sense of difference, of triumph and of mystery: the very essence of imaginative force.

In this way Pulsion watches form an integral part of the extraordinary universe of ROGER DUBUIS. A world that marks out a new approach and reforges the identity of Fine Watchmaking. What the Genevan watchmaker is introducing is nothing less than a new mode of aesthetic expression, reinforced by unique standards of mechanical reliability and precision.

Watches in the Pulsion Collection include

Skeleton Flying Tourbillon in Titanium

Chronograph in Black titanium

Chronograph in titanium

Chronograph in pink gold

Diva -VelvetIcon of chic and charm

For her, nothing is ever accidental or ordinary. The world of the Diva is perhaps best defined by thinking of her as a “muse”. Her entire personality expresses a specific point of view or vision. Her passionate nature, totally dedicated to cultivating elegance, and daring character, are an inexhaustible source of inspiration. The world of the Diva has inspired the new Velvet Collection, and beautifully embodies the mischievous femininity of the watches created by the Genevan watchmaker ROGER DUBUIS.

The subject of the new fantasy world imagined by ROGER DUBUIS, the Diva applies the philosophy of the Genevan watchmaker by seeking to encapsulate both the beautiful and also the hidden side of life, marked by all that is different. Her totally uncompromising character reflects a wish to express the most extravagant side of each of the models in the Velvet Collection for which she is the inspiration. The refined models of the new Velvet Collection mark the time with their character day by day and reveal an aesthetic rigour that is constantly stimulated by the desire to create something that is totally exceptional.

Over and above this wish to highlight all that is different, the Diva accurately reflects the women of today. These are women who never stop, are always seeking to turn each and every second into a precious moment and who are uncompromisingly demanding towards themselves. They who are passionate and hugely admired, and the objects they come to possess hold the keys to another world. Freed from all that is illusory, they are drawn towards the essential heart of things. For them, instinct is a second nature. Contemporary and seductive, they cultivate the art of the extravagant. In this they are totally faithful to the spirit of the Diva, and are free to go where others do not dare.

In the spirit of a truly refined style, the Diva re-creates the purest expression of all that is chic. Elegance is important, but glamour even more so: the models in the Velvet Collection are quick to earn pride of place on a woman’s wrist. Playing with graphic motifs on dials, distorting the shapes of cases, turning bracelet attachments into precious links: such things are not for them. Breaking with conformity, nevertheless they carry with them all the discipline of Fine Watchmaking, offering a unique combination of creative flair and technical expertise. The result is seen in watches that establish a permanent dialogue between virtuosity and poetry.

Daring takes on its full meaning with the creations by ROGER DUBUIS. With its Velvet Collection, the Genevan watchmaker takes one stop more on the road towards all that is different. What really counts is not to be like others, and to focus on the brand’s creative core, its famous codes of identity. There is enormous pleasure to be had in entering the universe of ROGER DUBUIS. That of discovering (or rediscovering) worlds that inspire the finest lines of watches to have ever been created. Creativity, personality, reliability, excellence, daring – this is where it all converges and emerges.

Watches in the Velvet Collection include

Amethysts and Spinels

Fine Jewellery in White Gold

Diamonds in White Gold

Jewellery in pink gold

Warrior – Excalibur

An atmosphere of chivalry, in which duels are synonymous with courage, and where a certain nobility of combat exists, inspired by a bygone age: welcome to the world of the Warrior! A world that brings to mind the symbolism of the Round Table, of the quest for the Holy Grail, the fight of good against evil and the defence of the realm. Here, as a characteristic of the era, men have the power to choose their destiny. It is from this world of choreographed mastery and power that ROGER DUBUIS reveals the Excalibur Collection.

Just like the orders of chivalry, the world of the Warrior is symbolised by the coat of arms. With its perfect gestures, sharpened swords and dazzling armour, the image of the world of the Warrior recalls a universe of nobility, strength, splendour and discipline. Like the watches from the Excalibur Collection, the knight carries inside him the aestheticism of combat, the beauty of the brave soldier, and the precision of the quest for excellence.

If the valiant wish their arms to win glory and victory, they must never lose sight of what makes them so daring and unflinching: their courage. The world of the Warrior gives great importance to the value of courage. Knowledge of their own resources, boldness, efficiency: these are the qualities that characterise those who act with dignity. The virtue of discipline should also be added to those referred to above. Knowing the different routes by which a goal can be attained, following closely the agreed plan of battle: these are the foundations for the combat of a valiant fighter.

Then comes the action. Victory remains the main objective and everything depends on subtly obtaining it. The knight is an extremely well-trained elite warrior, able to use both the sword and the lance with equal mastery. Honour, loyalty and honesty are found in each of his movements. It is from this strength and brilliance that the models in ROGER DUBUIS’ Excalibur Collection take their inspiration. Competition is a source of inexhaustible creativity for the Genevan watchmaker who has created and designed watches whose very nature expresses power and brilliance.

Watches in the Excalibur Collection include

Automatic in Pink Gold

Automatic in Steel

Excalibur Skeleton Double Flying Tourbillon in Black titanium

Player – La Monegasque

The world of the Player is a perfect symbiosis between adrenalin, precision and mystery. For him a spirit of adventure, natural elegance and glamour form part of everyday life. His world is daring and masterful, as he is a purveyor of strong sensations. In this he is very close to the world of Fine Watchmaking. Taking their inspiration from this universe, the watches in the Monégasque Collection from ROGER DUBUIS are dream machines that place their technical mastery at the service of creating emotion.

His roots are in the gambling world, but he is also capable of adapting to real life. The Player is a modern hero. He is somebody who considers risk as a supreme value but never forgets that the objective is always attained through skill and control. If he loves the accidental and intuitive side of games of chance, it is because he believes in his own lucky star. He is moved by the poetry of chance.

Fascinating, captivating, utterly intriguing, the universe of the Player is synonymous with freedom and has a great deal in common with the world of Fine Watchmaking. Both are domains governed by passion, elegance, mastery, enterprise and discipline. Anything goes, and the wildest follies become exciting challenges for the craftsmen of the extreme. Moderation and excess alternately mark the pace for these artisans of the exceptional who respond to the most detailed requirements for technical reliability and performance.

Imbued with the world of gambling, the Monégasque Collection from ROGER DUBUIS reflects a style that is intimately linked to one of the chicest of all the coastal resorts in the Mediterranean. Bathed in sunshine and luminosity, La Monégasque encapsulates the spirit of the location and participates in all the style and glamour of the Principality. Does time seem to stretch out languidly before one: a bold design, a contemporary line and a unique, innovative shape that lays out a perfect circle. Details take precedence over effects. The collection represents a notion of style rather than of fashion, characterised by a sober elegance and original forms.

Watches in the La Monegasque Collection include

Flying Tourbillon in Pink Gold

Faithful to the tradition of excellence that has established the reputation of the Genevan watchmaker, all the models in the above new Roger Dubuis Collections comply with all the latest requirements for the “Poinçon de Genève”. This mark of quality, issued by the Canton of Geneva to a small number of watchmakers, represents an official guarantee that the watch and its functions operate correctly. It also certifies that the watch movement is made by hand, assembled and regulated in Geneva and that it complies with the strict requirements laid down for the watch manufacture. Roger Dubuis is the only watch Manufacture to produce 100% of its movements in accordance with the criteria of the “Poinçon de Genève”.

Roger Dubuis – La Monégasque Flying Tourbillon

The breathtaking race of time seems suspended in La Monégasque Flying Tourbillon in pink gold. This new version for 2012 incorporates all the refinement and beauty of the complication that is most associated with Fine Watchmaking: The flying tourbillon. A masterful blend of mechanical precision and elegance, this model enriches the latest masculine collection from ROGER DUBUIS, La Monégasque.

La Monégasque Flying Tourbillon in pink gold displays the technically daring and innovative talent of the designers and watchmakers of the ROGER DUBUIS Manufacture. It is a tribute to the traditional art that it preserves so well. Every detail has been given careful attention: the RD540 hand-wound mechanical movement, manufactured, assembled and decorated by hand, is visible through an anti-reflection sapphire crystal that also reveals a unique dial decoration.

A window opens onto a world in relief. At the centre, a silvered disc with a brushed sunray effect is enhanced by the powerreserve indicator and the pink gold flying tourbillon. A brushed sunray effect rhodium-plated intermediate dial carries the white transferred markers outlined in black and a matching ROGER DUBUIS transfer.

Lastly, a brushed anthracite circle surrounds it, highlighting the applied Arabic numerals in pink gold outlined in black. The power reserve is given depth with silvered snailing, black transfers and an edge of pink gold. The large date and the power-reserve indicator create perfect symmetry with the flying tourbillon.

Produced in a limited series, La Monégasque Flying Tourbillon in pink gold is destined to delight no more than 188 watch lovers around the world.

In its 44 mm case, water-resistant to 5 bar (50 metres), the RD540 calibre with 293 parts meets the new criteria of the “Poinçon de Genève”, crowning this masterpiece of top-flight mechanical watchmaking. Running at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz) with a power reserve of 60 hours, it displays hours and minutes with central hands, an instant large date at 12 o’clock, power reserve at 4.30 and the flying tourbillon at 7.30.

Honouring the spirit of Monte-Carlo, its legendary history and its world of glamour, La Monégasque is a line that demonstrates the company’s creativity, modernity and its ability to continually reinvent watchmaking. La Monégasque Flying Tourbillon in pink gold embodies these values that form the power and the passion associated with ROGER DUBUIS, the highly contemporary Manufacture of fine watchmaking.

Roger Dubuis Velvet Fine Jewellery, Jewellery & Diamond

The Roger Dubuis Velvet Fine Jewelery Model in White Gold is synonymous with the absolute. Absolute as a watchmaker, absolute as a jeweller. The Velvet Fine Jewellery model in white gold is a watch that is dedicated to all the savoir-faire of ROGER DUBUIS. A symbol of technical alchemy and preciosity, it is set with 1,300 diamonds to give a total of some 9 carats. At its heart beats the RD 821 automatic mechanical movement. Its exceptional universe comprised of femininity, glamour and glitter places it securely in the spirit of the Diva.

Eminently desirable and deliciously precious, the Velvet Fine Jewellery watch in white gold is an ode to femininity. With its graphic dial set in relief on two levels, its numerals and appliques with their established identities, symbolic attachments thanks to which the bracelet and watch are joined into one: this watch takes pleasure in revisiting the codes of ROGER DUBUIS in sophisticated form.

For the Genevan watchmaker loves to create ultra-desirable, eccentric watches that make women long to possess them. With this Velvet watch set with diamonds, the brand looks towards this unique expression of elegance and refinement. It takes pleasure in appropriating the conventions of Fine Watchmaking and Fine Jewellery by combining them in a single iconic timepiece. ROGER DUBUIS has taken its inspiration from a certain daring spirit and charm in order to create this timepiece, which adds a touch of refinement to the collection.

The dazzling Velvet Fine Jewellery watch in white gold glitters with a thousand shimmers of light. From the heart of the watch to the folding buckle, this timepiece veritably gleams with the light of the gems. One thousand three hundred diamonds cover the watch, with 310 on the case (approx. 2.93 carats), and 494 on the bracelet (approx. 5.03 carats). Echoing this dazzling spectacle, 496 diamonds (approx. 1.03 carats) also cover the back of the dial on which is placed a metallised crystal displaying elongated Roman numerals. To create this precious item, ROGER DUBUIS’ team of gem-setters concentrated all their talent, carefully selecting the appropriate precious stones, harmoniously setting the diamonds and arranging the rounding off of the shapes so as to soften the timepiece’s appearance.

This model is naturally in keeping with the characteristics of the collection, attachments that harmoniously connect the bracelet and the 36 mm case; the dial set in relief on two levels; the case with a trompe-l’oeil shape half-way between a circle and a barrel; together with its strong character, power of seduction and certification.

The harmony of its gold bracelet and of its case is further emphasised by the Velvet Fine Jewellery model in pink gold; these diamonds highlight the attachments repeated all along the bracelet. To compliment the collection there is also a Velvet Diamonds in White Gold.  All the pieces run the same movement and style, the main difference between the three being the distinct design and imagery of the diamonds and gold settings and visual impact they all have in their own right as individually striking timepieces.

Roger Dubuis – Velvet Amethysts and Spinels Watch /roger-dubuis-velvet-amethysts-and-spinels-watch/ /roger-dubuis-velvet-amethysts-and-spinels-watch/#comments Sun, 11 Mar 2012 00:15:19 +0000 http://www.gamota.co.uk/wordpress/?p=1152

Roger Dubuis – Velvet Amethysts and Spinels Watch

The Velvet Amethysts and Spinels watch from the Genevan watchmaker ROGER DUBUIS is infused with the spirit of rock and roll. Playing on the different tones of light and shade, it exhibits a kaleidoscope of colours that are both deep and strong. Amethysts and spinels are intertwined like a Byzantine mosaic on the 36 mm titanium and DLC case.

Different materials and precious stones create a dazzling mixture of colours to produce a mystical array of reflected tones in this model that is limited to 188 pieces.

What makes the aura of a watch? Its charisma, its mechanism, its appearance? The Velvet Amethysts and Spinels watch combines all of these advantages, it has everything it takes to please. At the forefront of its qualities is its ability to capture both the light and observers’ attention. An absolute icon of glamour, it struts its stuff on the new Fine Watchmaking scene with a combination of elegance and mystery.

The spirit of the Genevan watchmaker infuses every detail of this model produced in a limited edition of 188 pieces. On its dial, numerals and appliques darkened by DLC give the aesthetic trompe-l’oeil impression of being in relief. In the foreground, a black brushed centre-dial reveals the brand name ROGER DUBUIS, while the black brushed sunray effect exterior contrasts with the purple of the elongated Roman numerals.

A game of hide-and-seek between the tones of light and shade soon commences, highlighted by the bright colouring of the deeply-tinted bracelet. On the bezel, the amethysts invite us to follow their dazzling dance of light. Veritable bubbles of ethereal light, shining with a thousand lights to pierce the mysteries of the depths! Their glittering covers the entire watch right up to the surface of the blackened titanium case. Here the stones play with time, and the horns are set with attachments that merge with the bracelet to wrap the watch around the wrist.

Precious links between the case and the bracelet, these attachments reflect a daring design and are a signature feature of the Velvet Collection, reminding us us that at the heart of this watch beats a Fine Watchmaking calibre, the RD 821 automatic mechanical movement. A manufacture movement designed, developed and produced in-house.

The femininity and jewellery spirit of this watch are also emphasised by the white gold model set with diamonds. One hundred diamonds are set into the case and the buckle of this watch (approx. 1.77 carats), matched by a silvered dial decorated with black Roman numerals and a strap in black satin-finished fabric.

Roger Dubuis – Pulsion Chronograph

Another new addition to the Roger Dubuis Collection of fabulous timepieces for 2012 is the Pulsion Chrongraph, This piece comes in three styles Black Titanium, Pink Gold and Titanium.

The Chronograph in the new Pulsion Collection from ROGER DUBUIS is in keeping with the image of the world of the Venturer from which it takes its inspiration: technological, powerful and dynamic. The Black Titanium edition (the first of the pulsion chronographs’) is equipped with a black DLC titanium case and a rubber strap, it has been designed for action. A distinguished feature of this collection, the sapphire crystal extends to the flanks of the case and serves as a bezel, while its numerals are engraved under the crystal and impregnated with luminescent material. This piece will be the introduction to the Roger Dubuis Pulsion Chronograph Series.

The Pulsion Chronograph from the Genevan watchmaker ROGER DUBUIS plays the card of total transparency in order to show its technical prowess. With its partially openwork dial that reveals all the workmanship of its exclusive RD680 chronograph movement, it is instantly recognisable thanks to its sapphire crystal screwed directly onto the case. This revolutionary structure enables the Arabic numerals to be engraved under the crystal and to be impregnated with luminescent material.

In addition to this distinguishing feature common to all the models in the Pulsion Collection, the Black Titanium Chronograph is equipped with exceptional technical features. Its dial, constructed in various different levels and with a black exterior surface treated with Geneva ribbing, exhibits complex workmanship, exemplified by the numerals 12 and 6 machined into two mini-circles and screwed onto the surface.

The dynamic character of this timepiece designed for action is also shown by its black DLC titanium case with a 44 mm diameter. With alternating polished and satin-finished surfaces, it has a complex structure that emphasises its elegant power and the force of its design. The mechanical chronograph movement with automatic micro-rotor winding, calibre RD680, represents the new generation of ROGER DUBUIS mechanical movements, combining aesthetic qualities and performance, and based on the most advanced production technology. The RD680 chronograph calibre includes 264 parts and has a power reserve of 48 hours (technichal spec. states 52 hours) for 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz).

The Pulsion Chronograph model is proposed with a black rubber strap featuring polished and satin finishings with a titanium folding buckle. Two models complete this collection, both of which are equipped with the RD680 chronograph movement and house the same case structure and the same polished and satin finishings. The first version is also proposed in titanium and has a light-coloured dial, while the second is presented in a pink gold case with a dark dial.

Roger Dubuis – Pulsion Collection – Skeleton Flying Tourbillon in Titanium /roger-dubuis-pulsion-collection-skeleton-flying-tourbillon-in-titanium/ /roger-dubuis-pulsion-collection-skeleton-flying-tourbillon-in-titanium/#comments Sat, 10 Mar 2012 22:54:57 +0000 http://www.gamota.co.uk/wordpress/?p=1116

Roger Dubuis – Pulsion Collection – Skeleton Flying Tourbillon in Titanium

New to the Roger Dubuis Collection in 2012 is this beautiful timepiece.

Transparency and delicacy are the order of the day for this Skeleton Flying Tourbillon model in the new Pulsion Collection from ROGER DUBUIS. Inspired by the world of the Venturer, the watches in this collection are distinguished by a totally unique sapphire crystal. Screwed down, it extends to the flanks of the case and serves as a bezel, while the numerals are engraved under the crystal and impregnated with luminescent material. This exceptional model’s titanium case houses a skeleton differential flying tourbillon movement.

Reliability, robustness, delicacy and transparency are combined in these new creations making up the Pulsion Collection by ROGER DUBUIS. Impregnated with the world of the Venturer, this new collection is immediately identifiable by its sapphire crystal directly screwed onto the case. This revolutionary structure enables the Arabic numerals to be engraved under the crystal and to be impregnated with luminescent material.

In addition to this obvious feature common to all the models in the Pulsion Collection, Skeleton Flying Tourbillon watch in titanium combines all the dynamism and strength expected in a watch built for action with the openly exhibited complexity of contemporary Fine Watchmaking. With alternating polished and satin-finished surfaces in its complex structure, its 44 mm diameter titanium case houses the RD505SQ calibre. Designed, perfected and produced by the ROGER DUBUIS Manufacture, this hand-wound mechanical movement with 165 parts combines two of the Genevan watchmaker’s best-known attributes: the contemporary skeleton movement and the differential flying tourbillon. Treated in anthracite to match the titanium of the case, the RD505SQ calibre beats at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations / hour (3 Hz) for a power reserve of 60 hours.

The Pulsion Skeleton Flying Tourbillon model in titanium is proposed with a black rubber strap featuring polished and satin finishings with a titanium folding buckle.

Like all models produced by the Genevan watchmaker ROGER DUBUIS, The Pulsion Skeleton Flying Tourbillon model in titanium complies with all the latest requirements for the “Poinçon de Genève”.

Mr Roger Dubuis returns to eponymous Geneva watchmaker /mr-roger-dubuis-returns-to-eponymous-geneva-watchmaker/ /mr-roger-dubuis-returns-to-eponymous-geneva-watchmaker/#comments Sat, 10 Mar 2012 21:24:44 +0000 http://www.gamota.co.uk/wordpress/?p=1055

Mr Roger Dubuis returns to eponymous Geneva watchmaker

Geneva-based watchmaking brand Roger Dubuis is pleased to announce the return of master watchmaker himself, Roger Dubuis to the Manufacture that bears his name. Having founded the firm in 1995 and moved on in 2005 to share his expertise with other watchmakers, Mr Dubuis today returns to the Geneva manufacture he set up over 16 years ago, in order to share his wealth of experience, as he assumes the role of “natural” ambassador.

As a master watchmaker of widely-acclaimed skill, founder of the firm in 1995, and instigator of the policy to certify all Roger Dubuis calibres with the Geneva Seal, Mr Dubuis is excited and emotional about his return to the manufacture:

“I am both happy and moved to be back at the heart of the firm I gave everything to, from my passion, to my name and to support the revival of this remarkable house.”

Mr Dubuis plans to spend the coming years passing on his wisdom and experience to the innovative young teams led by Head of Movement Development, Gregory Bruttin. Such mentoring will lend the weight of experience to the avantgarde vision that is key to the brand’s fabulous potential for creativity. Mr Dubuis holds within him the DNA and roots of the firm and will thus act as ambassador to the elite of fine watchmaking all over the world.

Georges Kern, CEO of Roger Dubuis, sees more than one advantage to these close ties with the founder: “The fact that Mr Dubuis has chosen to come back to the firm indicates that we are honouring the history and emblematic aesthetics of the brand and are moving in the right direction. The entire team at the Manufacture is, like me, delighted to have the opportunity to draw on the watchmaking talent of Roger Dubuis and his inherent encyclopaedic knowledge.”

As an unconventional visionary, Mr Dubuis had the insight to position the brand from the outset as the only watchmaker to certify every Roger Dubuis calibre with the prestigious Geneva Seal. The proud continuation of traditions and aesthetics he laid down 16 years ago gives Mr Dubuis good cause for enthusiasm: “I see a glittering future for Roger Dubuis. As I see it, the strong values that have been and are the strength of the brand continue to be upheld,” he concluded.
